The Listenwise platform offers teachers the ability to provide students with personalized feedback on their written assignments. Teachers can make comments or ask questions before asking students to revise their responses if needed. This functionality provides an opportunity for formative assessment, allowing teachers to check student understanding, which can inform future instruction.
Because these assignments are open-ended, we do not provide grades or answer keys. It’s up to your discretion on how you want to review and grade student work. Tips for providing feedback can be found in this blog post.
This video tutorial provides an overview of the process to review student work:
1. To review written assignments, navigate to the Classes page. Find the assignment and click See Responses.
2. On this page, you will see the status of student submissions, which is color-coded to help you quickly see who started or completed assignments. We also provide a “time spent” column to give you insight into how long students have spent on each assignment.
3. Click on a student’s name to review their work. At the bottom of the page, you'll see the feedback box to input your comments.
4. If you’d like a student to revise their work (or maybe they submitted incomplete work), check the Student needs to revise box to allow students to edit their assignment and re-submit back to you. After you add your comments, click Submit Feedback.
