Lingolift can offer helpful support to general education teachers with newcomers and beginners, either with or without ESL collaborators. Here are some suggestions:
With ESL Supports (either push-in or pull-out)
- Teacher-Led Lessons – 1-3 times per week (45-60 mins each) in small groups of newcomers or one-on-one, starting with social collections and then adding grammar and academic collections.
- Teacher-Assigned Collections – Daily (30-60 mins), starting with social collections and then adding grammar and academic collections, for students to do outside ESL support time.
- Student-Directed Practice – Daily (30-60 mins), in combination with teacher-assigned collections after 1-2 months of teacher-assigned collections, for students to do outside ESL support time.
- Listenwise ELD lessons – 1 time per week, as indicated, in alignment with curriculum, after 1-2 months of Lingolift lessons.
Without ESL Supports (gen ed teacher only)
- Teacher-Led Lessons – Once a week if possible, in small groups or one-on-one, starting with social collections and then adding grammar and academic collections.
- Teacher-Assigned Collections – Daily (30-60 mins), starting with social collections and then adding grammar and academic collections
- Student-Directed Practice – Daily (30-60 mins), in combination with teacher-assigned collections, after 1-2 months of teacher-assigned collections
- Listenwise ELD lessons – 1 time per week, as indicated, in alignment with curriculum, 1-2 months of Lingolift lessons.
