Quizzes are quick and easy to assign!
To Assign a Quiz:
1. On a lesson page, click Assign Quiz. For more help on finding stories with quizzes, see this article.
2. You can assign to multiple classes at once, so check the box next to each class you want to assign it to.
3. Choose which comprehension skill(s) you want to assess.
If you choose Reading, students will see only the audio story’s transcript and be asked to answer questions based on reading the text. This is a new option to assess reading comprehension using the transcript as a printed text.
If you choose Listening, students will see only the audio player (with no transcript), and be asked to answer questions based on listening to the audio story. This option was previously called “quiz without listening supports.”
If you choose Listening & Reading, students will see both the audio player and the transcript along with supports such as slowed audio and the Texthelp toolbar. This option was previously called “quiz with listening supports” and offers the most scaffolding for learners, allowing them to read and listen at the same time.
4. Within a class, you can assign the quiz to specific students and/or customize which comprehension skills to assess by student. Click on the class name to reveal the student roster. From here you can choose to assign the quiz to individual students or only allow certain students to see the interactive transcript and other listening supports.
5. Choose a due date for each class. You have the option to assign a time due, as well.
6. The remaining boxes are optional and allow you to customize your quiz:
- Release Date: Schedule your assignment to release on a later date, with the option to add a specific time, as well. If you leave it blank, students will see it immediately.
- Share to Google Classroom and Send Scores to Google Classroom: If you imported your Google Classroom rosters, you have the ability to post the assignment directly to students in Google Classroom and have quiz scores sent to your Google grade book as students submit work.
7. Click Assign! Quizzes are auto-graded, so you can explore quiz reporting once students submit work.
