Are Lingolift videos appropriate for newcomers?

Yes! Lingolift is designed for newcomers and emergent multilingual learners in grades 2-12. Almost every video lesson on Lingolift is appropriate for English Language Proficiency (ELP) levels 1-4. 

All video lessons have an ELP level ranging from 1-6, and this is how we define the levels:

ELP 1 & 2 - Beginner

ELP 3 & 4 - Intermediate

ELP 5 & 6 - Advanced

On each video lesson page, you’ll see the specific ELP level under the lesson title. Click on the ? next to the label for more information about the levels and how it aligns with your state.

Additionally, on the search page, you can filter lessons for specific ELP level bands. Each lesson in the search results also lists the video’s ELP level.

You can also browse all Listenwise and Lingolift lesson for ELP Levels 1-2 from the menu: Click Lessons, then ELP Levels, and then ELP 1-2.
