Facilitate Small Group Discussions

Activity: Provide students time to interact with their peers and practice academic talk. Assign a story for homework and divide students into small groups to discuss. 

1. Ask students to listen to a podcast before class.
   Tip: Use the Share Audio button (screenshot below!) on the story to share a Listening Link in Google Classroom or anywhere. This is the easiest way to share content with students! 
2. During class, divide students into groups. Use the comprehension questions and/or discussion questions to guide students’ small group discussions about the story.
3. Reconvene as a large group to share and discuss small group discussion highlights and debrief the learning experience.

Content Suggestions: Invite students to learn about recent current events and share their perspectives with each other.
