Activity: Combine synchronous and asynchronous activities within one class period. Listen to a story, review assignment materials together, and then be available for students who need extra support during independent work.
- Create a written assignment or assign a quiz for students to complete after you listen together synchronously.
Tip: You can schedule assignments to be released at a specific time. - Before listening together, use the Assignment Resources and Teacher’s Guide to build background knowledge, review vocabulary, and preview the comprehension questions.
- Listen to the story together. Share your screen with students so that they can read the transcript as you listen. Stop and clarify, repeat sections of the podcast, or listen multiple times as needed.
- Have students complete assignments independently.
