ELD lessons include instructional videos that can be used before listening to the podcast to activate and build background knowledge. These videos include Spanish subtitles and English captions. See below for more information:

Video subtitles in a student’s native language
The first featured video offers Spanish subtitles. If you’re watching the video as a class, change the language in your teacher account from English to Spanish to access the Spanish subtitles. You can switch back and forth between the two languages as needed. You will find this option at the top of the lesson page:
If a student is completing an assignment on their own, they can also change the language from English to Spanish to watch the video with Spanish subtitles. Students will find this option at the top of their assignment:

Video captions in English
Instructional videos include embedded English captions. The captions are automatically included when the video plays, but you have the option to disable captioning on any video within the video player. This functionality is the same in teacher and student accounts.
