Explore our standards-aligned lessons
#1 Browse our current events
Listenwise publishes new current event podcasts throughout the week. Topics range from sports, science, government, and culture to human interest and teen-centered stories. Each current event lesson includes comprehension and discussion questions. These podcasts are a great way to engage your students with the world around them.
Current Events are available for both free and Premium Listenwise teachers.
#2 Explore our standards-aligned lessons
For Premium teachers, Listenwise has curriculum- and standards-aligned lessons in ELA, ELD/ESL, social studies, and science. Lessons include questions, vocabulary lists, organizers, teacher guides, and more.
Click Lessons in the menu bar to browse the lesson collections and find a podcast to supplement your curriculum. To view a lists of lessons that align to your state standards, click Standards in your menu bar.
#3 Browse our Collections
Collections are highly curated audio “text sets” organized around commonly taught curriculum topics and themes. We now have more than 90 Collections featuring 5-10+ lessons each. Collections have been curated for educators at different grade levels to use in teaching ELA, ELD, social studies, and science, so there’s something for everyone! #4 Search and filter by topic
You can also search for particular topics on our search page. You can refine your results further by filtering by Lexile Audio Measure, Grade Level, and podcasts that include a Quiz.
Search is available to both free and Premium Listenwise teachers. Premium Only features are labeled.
When you open a story, you’ll see topic tags below the title. Topic tags can help you broaden your search by identifying more stories related to that topic. Examples of topic tags include “Memoir,” “Indigenous,” and “Diversity and Adaptation.” Some stories also have source tags like “Earth Rangers” or “WYPR.” Clicking these tags will lead you to additional stories from that source.
#5 Browse by standards
For Premium teachers, all of our Lessons are aligned to your state standards. You can use this feature if you’re looking for a story to meet a specific standard.
Navigate here from the Browse by Standards button on the search page or by clicking Standards on the menu bar.
