How to Use Filters on the Search Page

This article will help you navigate searching on Listenwise and share a few tips & tricks, too!

To find the search page, either type in a topic in the search bar when you log into your teacher account or go to the Lesson drop-down menu and click Search.

We recommend keeping your search broad to begin with, then refine results by filtering by subject area or grade level. Keep in mind the following filters are only available with Listenwise Premium:

• English Language Proficiency Band: Use this to filter for lessons based on students' English language proficiency levels. More information on ELP levels can be found here.
• Lexile Audio Measure: This is an indicator of the complexity of an audio passage. Use the low, medium, or high categories to find the right podcast. You may also click the ❔  near the filter for recommended ranges by grade level. For more on this measure, see this article.
• Quiz: If you want to assign a multiple-choice, auto-graded listening quiz, make sure to check this box. It’s the most popular filter option with teachers!
• Lessons: Standards-aligned lessons are only available to Premium teachers. Current Events are available to both free and Premium users!

As you add filters, the results will automatically refresh and the filter tags will be added to the top of the page so you can easily see what you’re filtering for. The video below shows you filtering in action:

To remove a filter, you can uncheck it on the search bar or remove the filter at the top.

Click Clear All to remove all filters and your search term and start your search over!
