All lessons on Listenwise and Lingolift include an English Language Proficiency (ELP) level ranging from 1-6 to make it easier to determine which lessons are recommended for your students based on their proficiency levels.
How we determine the ELP level
Each transcript is analyzed along several dimensions of language, including vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure. These ELP levels can help English learners and educators find texts that will be at an appropriate challenge level. While these ELP levels offer a useful starting point, the suitability of stories for individual students may vary, based on a variety of factors, including students’ age, interests, background knowledge, and reading level, as well as the degree of scaffolding provided.
