All Listenwise stories include curated comprehension questions and discussion themes to promote dynamic engagement with lesson content. By guiding students through a purposeful examination of the subjects, we aim to build a thorough understanding of stories.
Here are options for how to use these questions and themes:
Whole Group Listens
Engage with Listenwise stories by examining discussion themes as a group. By exploring different perspectives on a topic, assist students in making connections and thinking deeply about the content.
Written Assignments
Include the Comprehension Questions in a digital Listenwise asynchronous written assignment, which works well as a follow-up to synchronous listening activities. These questions provide an opportunity for formative assessment and allow students to practice their writing skills.
Writing Prompts
After listening to a story, utilize the Discussion Themes to allow students to demonstrate writing skills and deeper thinking. These questions are also great prompts for argumentative writing practice.
If you use Socrative, some Listenwise lessons list a code that allows you to import the questions into a Socrative quiz on the Assignment Resources tab.
